We have been running the Green Elephant Backpackers continuously since 1994! Naturally over this time, we have had many people work with us, have great fun and move on. Pat Mbutuma has been our star since the beginning! Now her main focus is looking after her grandson Solomon, a little gem in his own right. The pool table income goes towards educating Solomon, so feel free to play some more in the interests of his learning.She is hoping her house will be built in Steenberg this year..Pat is here every Tuesday and Thursdays.
Mavis Malone joined us in 2006 and has made her mark as the lady of the manor. She is in charge of the Wesley Street house and the communication between the managers and the cleaners.
Shingarai is our barman who will keep you entertained and help you explore a taste for local beverage as well as spin some great local tunes.
Nyasha our trusty Operations Manager, with the seductive smile will book your accomodation and as a qualified moutnain guide will see you safely up and down our world famous Table Mountain.
Edwina just back from Maternity leave and and allready got shark cage diving under her belt, rearing to welcome you to the Green Ele and ensure your stay is memorable and you are advised on the best tours.
Farai looks after the house on Weekends and would love to take you to Mzoli's on a Sunday for an authentic township shebeen experience.
Lucy Looks after Lytton house and just back from Holiday is looking forward to welcoming you at The Green Elephant.
Guy our night owl ensures that all the sleepy heads after a hard days touring get to sleep safe and sound whilst he mans our 24/7 reception desk throughout the night.
Robin is hardly here these days. His future is in renewable energies and specifically solar water heaters. www.sunpower.co.za He is trying to allow more young people to take the reigns and entertain and promote Cape Town and South Africa. He is still the steering hand behind the scenes, trying new plans and in charge of travel planning.
