Personality, Personality and Personality! These are the criteria. Are you the life and soul of a party, want to know what everyone is doing, able to inspire those around you and a real chatterbox. You need to be empathetic to find out what interests our guests, show interest in it yourself and point them in the right direction. It is essential to be passionate about South Africa and generate extra income through food, beverages tourism activities and referrals to other tourism businesses.
We have a great team and in the past had many great members and look forward to what new team members can provide. We have a teamwork structure at the Green Elephant where each person plays a part that adds to the whole team. We need to be friendly and efficient at all times and this can often be very demanding. The teamwork is to enable us to ask each other for help and to make another team members work easier and more enjoyable. Fitting into our culture is essential, so we have group interviews where all or most of the team are present and all the applicants are there to. This enables us to get a better understanding of each other and a wider view of opinions as to who is the most appropriate candidate. There are certain skills that are needed, such as a Public Drivers Permit, Computer Skills, Travel Knowledge about South Africa and especially Cape Town. The personal skills such as active listening, empathy, warmth and camaraderie are the harder ones to identify, so a broad base of opinions is the best. We do not necessarily choose the person who talks the most and wants to be the centre of attention. We are looking for a diverse team, so if you different from us, we do not discriminate against you. We want you to be happy and enjoy being a productive part of our team.
